Bad Night

Ashley had a bad evening and night. She didn't nap at school yesterday, although her teacher told me she did great. It was raining outside, so that meant she would be able to play outside with her best friend Hayden (in the picture above). Once home though, she wouldn't listen and barely ate dinner only to ask me 10 minutes after I threw her dinner out if she could have a snack. Then around 7:00pm we were upstairs playing and she took a toy from Audrey. She is really bad about ripping stuff out of Audrey's hands. So she had to give it back to her and then she fell apart. She cried for probably 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes, I held her, got her pj's on, tried to convince her to let me read books to her, held her some more, and then finally convinced her to lay in bed. I turned off her light and layed with her. She grabbed my arm, curled up on her side, and immediately fell asleep.

So, in bed by 7:30pm meant she was up at 5:30am. Lucky us.

Hey, sounds like my house! Especially the "I'm not hungry and don't want my dinner but um, can I have a snack?" part. Oh and Keven Jr. snatches stuff from Isaac ALL the time. Not sure how to remedy that just yet. Jealousy and sibling rivalry is definitely in the works. Good luck girl, I feel your pain.

Thanks for the post, it helps me to be fine with having an only child! (I have a really bad baby itch right now!) Sounds like your struggles with Ashley and sleep are the same as mine with Jeremy! He had a 45 minute nap yesterday and is getting a cold so he was asleep around 730pm as well and up at 530am! The book that says if you put your kids to sleep earlier they will sleep later is a crock!

Awh!
Sounds like she was exhausted..
My youngest son does that when he is in need of desperate sleep as well!
He will get very irritated, argue a lot by saying "NO" to everything & then the next I know he is OUT for the night..LOL!

Yup, Silly Girl does the same thing. Won't eat all of her dinner but then asks for a snack or M&M's ten minutes later.
And I am all too familiar with the bad sleepy child. A sleepy child=testing mommy's patience. Sounds like you handled it like a pro though.

Wow, it must've been the night for kids to go to bed early! Bug passed out at 7:30 and also didn't want to eat her dinner (after she specifically asked for spaghetti!).

Bug gets crabby when she's super tired. She stopped taking naps when she was 2 1/2 and it drives me nuts!! :)
