Sisterly Love

This is the beginning of Audrey's attempt to move about the room without actually having to put forth the effort and crawl...

She can turn 360 degrees just on her belly...

And roll where ever she wants to get to.

That is her current state of movement. Yes, she is almost 9 months and not really crawling yet, but we aren't passing judgement. We are actually afraid of when she does crawl. She has shown so much personality this past week. When she gets frustrated, she makes this face and pounds her little fists. And when she's really pissed, she arches her back and cries. Like every time I try to change her clothes. Fun times.

And yes, I totally jinxed myself the other day. Saturday night was a nightmare. And I don't see any other teeth coming in now that the top two have poked through, so I don't know what her deal is.

Yesterday, Audrey was in the ultrasaucer while Ray and I were trying to unload the Target bags and get lunch ready for everyone. Audrey started bitching, and for the first time that I have really noticed, Ashley came running over and kept saying, "I'm right here, Audrey, your sister's right here." It's the first time Ashley has attempted to comfort Audrey when I haven't been the one to her first. This is a good sign since every other time Ashley is trying to bear hug Audrey to the point she normally makes her cry.

Chemical Explosion Update - we were never evacuated, thank goodness. It rained here most of the day on Friday, so the "cloud of chlorine" that was predicted to float over to our wonderful little town never happened. The fire was extinguished as of yesterday and people were allowed to return to their homes.

What a cute picture!!!

That is so good of her big sister to take care of her, gosh that is sweet :)

Glad you didn't live in Apex either! I had a friend who was evacuated, but she was one of the first to be let back in on Friday evening, so all was good.

Hope you had a great weekend!

How cute! My son didn't start crawling until he was 9 1/2 - 10 months! Accordingly, he didn't think it was necessary to start walking until he was 14 months!

That is so cute your description of Ashley being the great big sister! I remember when my daughter started doing that and I thought it was so adorable! It makes you think about how many times you say "It's ok, mommy's here" :)

Hi Amy!

First, Forgive me I must have lost your email so I had to post this here!

Second, I have a favor, well not really a favor, more of a "if you know someone" thing. As you know I got a place finally, well the man called back tonight and mentioned that there are no pets allowed. In my present state I can't be picky, but I am having a hard time with this because I have a much beloved cat Piper. Don't fret - I'm not asking a perfect stranger (you) to take her, but I am wondering if maybe you know someone who wants a really wonderful, loving, perfect cat, lol. I am really freaking out because she has been with me for 7 years, I got her as a kitty, and I don't want to just drop her off at the SPCA in Garner, so I figured I would ask around. I'm posting it on all my mommy boards and so forth, but I am grasping for straws, so I figured maybe you knew someone? She is such a great cat, a big white furball as I call her. She is a larger cat because I spoil her, 7 years old, completely white, doesn't love other cats or dogs, but she has never been with them either so I don't know if she'd get used to them. She is skiddish (sp?) at first but warms up within a few days. Piper bonds to someone and just is with them all the time, she definately is a cuddler. So, if know anyone, especially a single person with no pets, I would be especially greatful if you could just see if they wanted a cat. Oh, she is completely indoors, spayed, and so forth.

This just breaks my heart, but I can't turn down this apartment after all the trouble I have gone through. What sucks is that I wouldn't have even gone to look at it if it had said no pets. So, then I wouldn't have this problem.

So, anyhow, I just figured I would ask... I hope you don't mind, I know you don't know me, but I'm just trying everything! Thanks so much for even listening (or reading as the case may be!)

Take care!
Erin
