Life of a Realtor's Wife

  • We often get the urge to move...(can we say 4 houses in 9 years of marriage?)

  • Phone calls at dinner

  • Scaring me in the car because he is driving and talking and writing down something

  • Work hours are not your normal 9 - 5

  • Phone calls at dinner

  • Getting to look at any house that's on the market (great decorating ideas)

  • Not a scheduled paycheck

  • Your kids get excited when you mention going to look at a house

  • Phone calls at the pool

  • Phone calls at dinner

There are many websites you can get mortgage rate
quotes
if you are looking into mortgage
refinancing.
It can get hard when trying to find a decent mortgage company that
will give you the best mortgage
rates
that are out there. It's difficult to get home
loans
but with some research you can save money.

** I wouldn't mind the urge to move often (I get that now!!)

** Non-normal work hours would be a pain in the Target bag

** I'd LOVE to look at any house on the market

** Non-scheduled paychecks would be a pain in the shoes AND cause me to freak out now and then

** The phone calls at dinner, the pool and whenever? Not so much :)

I can only imagine how annoying those calls can be!

Can you get the urge to move to Ohio???

:)

Ohio is not the place for you. Virginia is.

Other than the phone calls at dinner, those other perks might be fun. I love to look at houses, I'm just not big on having people look at mine, haha.

But yeah, phone calls at dinner? Meh.

I work with REALTORS and am always amazined at how much work the job really is. Lots of people say -- oh, must be great to make your own hours, no office time, etc. They are nuts. They work weird hours -- usually evenings and weekends when their clients are available - and have to take calls nearly 24/7.

So you don't like the phone calls, eh? ;)

We've moved 4 times in our 4 years of marriage and 6 times in the last 5 years (4 cities in 3 states). :) My husband is a chemical sales rep.

And the constant phone calls, even at 3 in the morning because a Plant has an emergency and driving while talking and writing things on the PDA all fit too. Scary.

Looking at houses is fun. Moving, not so much fun.

Thank you for reminding me of all the reasons I am so happy to NOT be selling homes.

But I still get to look at homes whenever I want, so that's ok.

And I still have the "wants to move very often" thing going on. I am already planning our next move. I can't wait!

Having a nose around the houses sounds good but I think I'd pass on everything else.

i take it the calls at dinner time are particularly vexing?

the odd paychecks that would freak me out... sounds like an intertaining job though;)

Chris is not a realtor, but is always on the phone!!! Always. I've threatened to throw it out, lol.

If it wasn't for the unusual hours and the phone calls at dinner, I would enjoy being a realtor. My friend was telling me some horror stories, and the phone calls at dinner, changed my mind too.

But checking out houses and getting decorating ideas would be real FUN!

I've lived with a realtor so I understand completely. We moved countries 4 times in our first 8 years of marriage.

I take it there's been a few too many calls during dinner?

How is being married to a real estate agent like taking exlax?
"We often get the urge to move."

How is being married to a real estate agent like being stalked by a telemarketer
"Phone calls at dinner"

I should keep going?

I love looking at model homes, and walking into open houses just because I'm curious and nosey like that. I can't imagine that part of being a realtor's wife ever gets old. The non-stop phone calls however, not so much.

And Keven Jr. was just telling me the other day that he wanted to move....fancy that.

I'm so glad my husband decided not to pursue real estate. He went to school, got his license, then decided he didn't want to do it. Thank god. I totally feel for you.

Being married to a realtor myself, I can relate to you. My husband works at least 70 hours a week. Being a quality time person, it certainly has been difficult. At this point in time I'm wondering how realistic it is to have kids...I certainly wouldn't want my children growing up with a father who is rarely around.
