Fun Monday - Little White Lies

Uncaring Bear is hosting this week's Fun Monday...

Share with us a little white lie that you may, or may not, have gotten away with. Perhaps it's something more sinister than a little white lie - maybe even a deep dark secret that you've kept buried for years! All the better! Now's your chance to get it off your chest and confess: "Yes, I did eat that last slice of cheese cake", "No, I wasn't washing my hair that Saturday", "Those pants do make you look fat"!

This is really the only one I can think of off the top of my head, and it was really Ray that did the lying, although I am as much to blame as he is.

Ashley was only 2 weeks old, and friends of ours that lived down the street from us had asked us to feed their cats for them while they were gone for a weekend. We did it often for them, and it was no big deal. So the weekend came and went, and you guessed it, Ray and I in our sleep deprived state COMPLETELY FORGOT to feed the cats. Our friends hadn't really reminded us about it, and we were blessed with the worst sleeping baby on earth, so our brains just weren't functioning properly. When our friends came home that Sunday, they called to see how the cats did. Ray was completely caught off guard and told them the cats were fine. No other questions were asked, and we are guessing the cats really were fine. We are not sure if they knew we didn't come over or if they thought we did. It still bothers us to this day that we did that as we love animals, but it was only one night and the cats were always left with plenty of food.

I will say this though. These same friends of ours would watch our cat for us when we were gone. We came back from a trip to find 100 pictures of their baby girl in random places all over our house. Including my underwear drawer. We have lost touch with them as they got divorced prior to us moving to North Carolina.

Go visit Uncaring Bear for all the other lies...

LOL... That is so funny!!

Glad I don't have any cats I need you to feed!! :)

Why the heck would anyone take pictures in your underwear drawer?!?

The cat lie obviously did no harm but the pictures? Now that is plain weird.

WTF? I've heard of proud parents but that is a bit ridiculous. Nice for them to go thru your drawers. That's really random.

Okay - something about those photos strikes me as ODD. Crazy people!

I'm not sure if the photos everywhere sounds wierd or if you just had a really great relationship with them that allowed you all to do silly things like that.

Your lie falls under the no harm, no foul category. Their cat was fine, and you saved them worry of thinking otherwise. (An experienced liar knows how to rationalize.)The 100 pictures is certainly unusual.

Was the underwear drawer incident before or after the no feed-no tell incident? Maybe that is why it happened?

If not, they are freaks.

ok i gotta say i agree the 100 pics is odd.

LOL poor kitties. But I think that makes up for them getting into your underwear drawer.

While the 100 pics is odd, I'm guessing it was their way of saying "Yeah, we know you didn't feed the cat." Still odd. Funny. But odd :)

I'll remember not to ask you to feed my cat -if I ever had one!!

Whoa, pictures of their daughter all over you house? Weird.

And you know the cat thing, is just funny....

About the poor kitty, I'm sure I've slipped feeding my own from exhaustion due to my babies not sleeping. One night, wouldn't hurt them, now if it was for a week, I could see that as a reason to get back at you for leaving the pictures, which is really weird BTW!

I would only be concerned if they had been gone a whole week and you forgot the cat - one nigh is usually fine.

But - okay, pictures in your underwear drawer? THAT would freak me out.

In your underwear drawer?! Yikes! (Who does that?)

Good thing no further questions were asked, and that the cats didn't get into anything, haha.

You can hardly be blamed.

er - they put photos in your underwear drawer? What for???

Unknown said...

Oops, I'm not fond of cats but still that would make me feel bad too.

It's safe to say, that all those pictures-especially in the underwear drawer-rank very high on the disturbing-O-meter. Freaks.

And the cats were fine! I am sure they could find a mouse or something to eat if they got hungry. Don't beat yourself up over it. Afterall, if cats are so dang smart, they should know how to feed themselves :) (Can you tell I'm a dog person?)

That's kind of creepy that they were not only going through your drawers but also taking photos.

WTF? Pictures of their kid in your undie drawer? HUH? Damn! I am guessing you didn't confront them about it? That is beyond strange. I am glad for you that you lost touch!

BTW Fianna and I think you deserve an ego boost and we tag you for the 10 things I love/like about me, aka "Stuart Smalley meme"!! Spreading the Love!

I live in fear that I will forget something important like that.

My middle daughter had someone feed her cats and dog -- and supposed to walk the dog.
came home.. and there was dog poo everywhere... and they hadn't been cared for at all.

I think you need to elaborate on the picture story!!
