Terrific Tuesday

I have been a little MIA in the blogging world. Last Thursday, Ashley was sent home from school with a low grade fever and complaints of a stomache ache. She continued to spike a fever over the next couple of days, but Tylenol and Motrin kept her feeling like herself. Then Ray was pretty sick, chills, fever, cough, headache. I actually didn't even sleep in the same bed as him two nights because a) I didn't want whatever he had and b) he needed some sleep.

By Sunday, everyone was feeling better. But then Sunday night, Ashley was up most of the night and even managed to throw up all over her bed at 2:00am after I made her take some medicine. Just what I need in the middle of the night. So I kept her home yesterday and even took her into the doctor just in case she had strep or something. Nope, just a virus that was probably on the tail end of it. She was of course fine the whole day, and I did get to go to Target and do some much needed laundry.

So I am back, back to work, back to the daily grind. Today here in Raleigh? 101 degrees. Tomorrow? 100 degrees. Thursday? 101 degrees. I think we will be staying indoors in the evenings.

Sorry to hear everyone was sick...glad they are better. My leave ends soon and I am not looking forward to getting back to the daily grind.....sorry about the heat. It is to be 98 here, but that is not as hot as you have it right now! Hope you can enjoy some air conditioning.

2:00 AM? That really stinks. I'm glad everyone seems to be better and that you got a lot done yesterday!

The heat is killing us as well. We're only in the mid-90's, but with the humidity I feel like I'm going to melt out there!

Same temps here. Of course, we have awful humidity which pushes our heat index to 110 or so. Good times.

Glad everyone is feeling better. I'm not getting much sleep either but I figure I'll sleep during the surgery! HA

Nice weekend. We had a little of the same. Gah. Glad everyone is better, though!

This heat is insane. The humidity is worse. I'm no more likely to leave the house in this than I am when it's 6 degrees outside. Makes me nuts.

You poor thing - sounds like you've had a rough few days. At least you got a trip to Target out of it!

And this weather - it is AWFUL. We're looking at heat indexes of 105 - 110 here today. It's so friggin humid - like pea soup. Thank God for air conditioning!

Cleaning up puke at any hour sucks canal water with a straw. Doing it at 2am? I'd rather be trapped in Wal-Hell for three days!! Hope everyone's feeling better!!

The heat SUCKS!! We've only been in the 90's with 100% humidity and that's been enough to drive me insane!!

That sounds awfully hot for where you live. Stay cool.

I'm glad everyone is starting to feel a little better. It really sucks being sick.

My SIL and BIL and their kids had whatever it is. My poor BIL had a temp of 103.8 .

You all take care.

Sick is bad, but hot and sick at the same time. It just shouldn't be allowed!

I'm glad everyone is feeling a little better.

hate regurgitation.

we've had a reprieve today from the terrific heat -- it was pleasant dining on the patio tonight with friends. (and a few yellow jackets)

Summer bugs are the worst! I mean, you're supposed to be sick in the winter, but a temperature inside, when the temps are soaring outside? Big.YUCK.!

Hope y'all are completely on the mend and that sleep comes :).

btw, Heat indexes in TN are supposed to be in the low hundreds...I think humidity is about the same :/.
