Update on us...

I feel like I haven't given much of an update on what's been happening in our lives...so our weekend so far? Busy as usual.

I spent the entire day (10am - 10pm) scrapbooking. Ray took the kids to the grand opening to a new kids museum in downtown Raleigh this morning, and then met me for dinner this evening.

The girls are great...Ashley is just as excited about our upcoming trip to Disney as I am. She keeps wanting to talk about what we are going to do there, who we are going to see, and the friends she is going to miss while she is there.

But she has also been trouble lately. We are dealing with her not taking no for an answer. Anyone else have a four year old like this? She asks for soda (or to stay up late, or whatever) and she just keeps asking, over and over and over again. Drives me nuts.

And Audrey is a drama queen (although a really, really cute one). Ashley so much as looks at her funny, and she will start crying saying "ow", knowing that might get our attention.

Ray and I actually got to watch a movie on Friday night, something we haven't done in years...(seriously, I went to Blockbuster and the credit card on file expired in 2005). We rented National Treasure (do not make fun of us, we have completely opposite tastes in movies, this was the only compromise) and it was really cute. The problem? I could not go to sleep afterwards.

I hope everyone else is having a great weekend...

I think not taking no for an answer sounds about normal for her age....

Madison still does the asking for things over and over again. I feel for you it drives me nuts! She pretty much asks hoping she will get the answer she is looking for until she gets in trouble instead. She also used to do the crying when she was little just from someone looking at her she knew we would assume someone did something to her. though. Smart kid.

Just a lurker, love your family story...I have a 4 year old girl that age, pretty typical...over and over and over again. I have learned not to engage her though. As hard as it is, I answer and then ignore her. I realized the more and more I was answering her questions the more frustrated both of us were. She still repeats, but I only answer once and the questions are getting smaller in number.
Good luck!

Yeah that you were able to scrapbook! My 3 year old does the question think- pretty much until I lose my cool over it. Drives me bonkers. I've actually heard myself say "I am the mommy and you are the 3 year old"- you know, in case she forgot ;) So glad everyone is excited for Disney!

Hmm, I have a 4 year old like that as well, however he's approaching 5 and my god, I have it in for me. He's been so bad lately it's not even funny.

And then there is Isaac. He's in a league all of his own but keeps up with his brother pretty well - as far as getting into trouble.

What was I thinking?

Sounds like you are having a good weekend, we are too! :)

Soudns like you had a relaxing weekend! I was going to take Matthew to that opening but I am a person who can't deal well in crowds, lol... so we're going this week. It looks really cool!

Sounds like my daughter lately, so I'm guessing it's normal...although extremely annoying!

I can totally relate to the movie thing...we hardly ever get to watch any movies. We'll be catching up on all the movies that have come out since 2003 when they're $.50 to rent because it will be 2025! Oh wait, with inflation they'll still be $3.99. Crap.

And definitely jealous of the scrapbook time!

Try having 3 kids that all won't take no for an answer and are drama queens!!!!

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend!

I think that is normal for a 4 year old-- testing her limits.
