A Campaign Trail, Random Fevers, and Lack of Sleep (what else is new?)

Last night Ray got invited to a fundraiser for John Edwards. And no, that does not mean we support him as a candidate. And no, we did not actually give any money. But Ray loves politics and national issues and can debate stem cell research and educating the world all in one breath. I just don't pay attention enough to give an educated opinion about certain stuff. Anyways, it was at someone's house in a pretty nice neighborhood in Raleigh. And Ray said there were some things that he said that he didn't agree with, but it was just exciting to be there with someone who is trying to be President of the United States. And yes, he had a terrific haircut.

And no, I don't want to get in a political debate. I am one of those debaters that is passionate about what I believe (aka I am very opinionated), so I am no fun to debate with.

When I picked Audrey up from daycare, they said she had a great day. But by the time I got her home, she had a fever. Not too bad, but enough where she didn't want me to put her down. It really isn't fun trying to make dinner while holding a 19 month old. Anyways, we ate dinner and left Ashley with her best friend to play and ran to the drugstore to get Audrey some medicine because somehow we didn't have any. By the time I got back from the store, the fever had subsided and she was acting fine. I am thinking it's her teeth as she is cutting those really pesky two year molars.

And lack of sleep? When Ashley is overly tired, she does not sleep well. She cries and whines in her sleep and wakes up, and I went in her room at least three times last night and I am pretty sure Ray did the same. Like Ray said this morning, it feels like we took 10 little naps instead of one good night sleep.

Mondays just suck. Thank God it's Tuesday.

I'm completely emphathizing with you right now on the sleep thing. What is with our 4 year-olds???

That's cool that Ray got to go to the fundraiser...I don't have any interest in figuring out all the candidates and what they stand for (I have to wait for the bad ones to get weeded out by the people that actually understand it all). And therefore I cannot argue anything politically because I'm so uneducated. And to think I really enjoyed political science in college!

I think I have only taken naps for 14 months now.

that is really neat that Ray got to go to the fundraiser-- very cool opportunity.

Max woke up at 3am for the first time in almost a month Sunday night - definitely not the way to start off the week! Totally sympathize with you!!

I'm with you on the sleep thing. My 4 month old has ceased to sleep through the night since he's gotten this snotty nose thing, but no fever. It's just YUCK!

Hope Audrey feels better now. LP is just like Ashley when he's too tired. It took me 2 hours to put him to bed this evening!

Same thing with the sleep --- but its' because of snoring (mine AND HP's!).

How cool to meet John Edwards. I wish I could. I wont' debate you but I really like him.

I remember the lack of sleep when my children were young. These days with my insomnia I am feeling the same as I did then the only difference I can lie in my own bed and nap!!

No debating here - I am useless about politics. I don't pay any attention. Sort of pathetic considering where I live huh?

Glad it was just a random fever - those are way better than the ones that linger! : )

I would love to hear Ray debate stem cell research. Like you, I feel really passionately about certain things, but I'm not a good debater cuz I dont' think well on my feet. Ray, on the other hand, would be a great person to have on a debate team! :)

Sorry about the sleep issues. I hope tonight is better.

Morgan's the same with sleeping when she's overtired. Makes NO sense to me--if you're tired, you sleep. Plain and simple :)

Something must be in the air...my kids didn't sleep well last night either...hope tonight is better for both of us. That is neat that Ray got to go to a fundraiser...I am sure it was an interesting experience. I tend to not pay attention enough to know what is going on with that stuff until it is really important to deal with it at voting time....I should probably be better about it though

Yesterday was a horrible day for me too, but thank God the kids aren't sick.

I hope she's feeling better today.

its so funny to me how kids want to be held when they don't feel well. when I don't feel good I usually want to be left alone!

Thank you again for letting Ray go to the fundraiser! (yes I was the pesky coworker who invited him, or coerced him rather, into going). And Edwards did have some pretty snazzy hair. The way it blew in the wind...fantastic.

I think I like John Edwards more than I did a couple day ago. He's really growing on me. But I do not wish to get into that either. Oh BTW-I did not donate either! Bad democrat.

We had one of those nights w/ Caleb last week. The child would not sleep. Just laid on the floor, in front of the door and kicked it. Over. And over. And over.

It does sound fun to meet someone like that even if you don't totally agree with them. :)

I always hated when my kids were sick, especially the little ones who just want to be held while they're burning up. And they get so heavy while sleeping on you. And it seems you never have that medicine when you need. :)
May Wednesday be better!

I'd say I don't miss the days of not getting sleep with a 4 year old but I've told you about my kids and their sleep walking before. I feel the pain. My kids keep me up a lot at night tracking wherever it is they are going
