October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As most, if not, all of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Go here for information...

What most of you don't know is how much I love football. Yes, I am partial to the Virginia Tech Hokies, but the last year Ray and I lived in Virginia, we also had season tickets to the Washington Redskins. So yes, I love football. And no, I have not converted to a Charlotte Panthers fan...sorry.

Anyways, my point in all this is that players in the NFL will be using special-edition pink Gatorade towels during all 14 games. These towels will be autographed by NFL players and put up for bid on http://www.nflauction.nfl.com/. Proceeds from the charity auction will go to breast cancer organizations.

From the site:
"The NFL has designated the weekend of October 7-8 as NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend. Fans can get involved by purchasing items on NFLAuction.com and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to two national breast cancer organizations, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer."

Yeah for you! Thanks for posting this. This is a cause near and dear to me (my grandmother had it, my mom get lumps and we always have to hold our breath to find out if it is cancer). I have been putting up some info on my blog, but this isn't one I had known about....thanks for sharing!!

That is a great cause and a good thing for the NFL to be doing something to to help raise money.

You obviously haven't converted to a Panthers fan since they are the Carolina Panthers, not Charlotte, lol!

Thanks for posting this though!!
