It's has started....

Wow, is anyone else in shock that it is actually November? Cause I totally am. And in case you didn't see my sidebar, I am again participating in NaBloPoMo, or more correctly, National Blog Posting Month where I post everyday for the month of November. And good luck to all who are participating, I know I will need it to keep everyone from being bored to tears....

Ashley did decide to be the Minnie Mouse Pumpkin costume. And it was very, very cute. (Pictures tomorrow, I promise...) We were out trick-or-treating by 6:00pm, and by 7:00pm, we were back on our porch handing out candy. Ashley and Audrey both had fun handing out candy, almost as much fun as trick-or-treating. At 7:45pm, we had run out of candy, to include giving back out some of the candy the girls received. Basically, if it had nuts, we handed it back out as I am the only one in the house right now that eats peanuts.

Our neighbor Tom decided to dress up as some sort of scary looking person, which terrified Ashley. She kept asking why a scary woman was in our neighbor's driveway. They had also transformed their garage into a scary walk-thru thing, but neither of my kids went through it.

Audrey did have fun though. This was her first Halloween to actually trick or treat since last year she wasn't even one year old yet. Her "treat" and "tank-oo's" were very cute and she was the best lady bug on the street.

I just got done reading my neighbor's post about Halloween, and I concur with what she said. We had many kids rifle through the bowl, picking out what they wanted. At one point, I was across the street from my house at my neighbor's house, and I had left a bowl on my porch. I noticed these kids spending a lot of time on my porch, so I snuck up behind them. They had pretty much dumped out my bowl and were sorting through it, all while the parents were standing right there. I said "boo" and scared the living daylights out of them, so that was fun.

Can't wait to see the pics! Isn't that funny - Abby thought handing out candy was a blast too.

I was also amazed at how so many parents just let their kids do whatever they wanted. My kids took one piece of candy unless the handing-out-person told them to take more.

Can't wait to see the pictures!

Can't wait to see the costume pic!

I can't stand how rude some kids are during trick or treating!

some kids don't have any home training!

We had kids taking handfuls if we didn't hand it out to them. I would never have done that when I was a kid...

I wish I would have seen you 'boo' those kids. That would have been hilarious. By the time we went in, I was just pissed at how the other kids were behaving.

I think next year, we may do individual bags or something (like 500 of them) so the kids won't know what they are getting before they get it...

I don't like the greedy, picky kids. Of course, I don't like greedy, picky adults.

sorry for the boohoo trick or treaters. we only had about 4 of them. we shut the light off at 9. no idea why. perhaps it is because there are so many indoor places to go around here where the parents can just let the kids walk around and presumably get candy (as i didnt go, but it was trick or treating) at the mall, etc.

We didn't have that many trick or treaters, surprisingly. It was bad news because I had to get rid of that candy somehow.

Josh had a blast handing out candy.

Lindsay was a little scared of the whole Halloween thing.

Sounds like you all had a fun night! :)

Sounds like you had a great Halloween! Yeah! I try to teach my daughter (and Riley as he gets older) that she should take it, say thank you, and we can decide later if she wants to eat it or not...you know, to be grateful she got something and not picky about what goes in her basket.

I can't beleive it's November already either. Where did this year go?
Sounds like a good halloween, especially since you got to scar the rifling candy kids!
I don't get how parents let their kids do that. I think its rude.
