Consistent

If my kids are one thing, it's consistent.

Audrey has consistently woken up between 5:00 and 6:00am for the past two (maybe three? I've lost count...) weeks. To say I am looking forward to the time change in a few weeks is an understatement.

Why does she get up so early? I have no idea. She comes running down the hall to our room and tells us "Go downstairs". Which we plead and beg with her to just lay in bed with us. Sometimes she goes back to sleep, most of the time she doesn't. She wants to watch tv or play with the dog. How she is functioning on so little sleep is beyond me.

Ashley, on the other hand, is sleeping great. I think she is so tired from school all day, she crashes at night. I am hopeful Audrey will get like that as well some day. Sooner than later would be perfect.

you poor, poor thing. I think most of us parents have been through that and can say that it is one of the most awful parts of parenting!!

That is craptastic!! Especially when the only other choice for you guys to get some good sleep is to go to bed when the kids do and really? How fun is that?!

My daughter has always been an early riser too. Sometimes she'll go for a stretch getting up at 7 am or so, but mostly, it's between 530-630. It sucketh.

Blake has been waking up at 6am or a bit before for a while too... It is so frustrating you want to say... don't you know that the parents don't go to sleep at 7pm so we'd like to sleep a bit longer please!

Yikes. But maybe I'd take early if mine wouldn't wake up screaming with teething pain 5 out of 7 nights a week and need to be rocked for an hour. Poor thing. He's been teething for a freaking year and a half.

Five or six, huh? That stinks! KJ is my early waker, usually around 6:30, though thankfully I can send him downstairs by himself for an hour.

Jack learned to climb out of his crib two nights ago. He scares the bejeezus out of me when he pops in my morning shower and peeps, "Hi Mommy!"

Ugh! That is way too early! This is another reason why I haven't yet moved Alyssa to a toddler bed.

Why is it that our children's sole mission in life is to figure out just how little sleep they can allow mommy and daddy to have. I sure wish I could figure out how to get more sleep! I hope she lets you sleep in soon!

Poor you ...it is always us who suffer the most from the sleep demons....and just when they are sleeping all night, they want to stay out all night and we loose sleep then!

Jeez, my kid does that too. The worst part is not understanding WHY!!! Because then I feel like I might have some power to fix it. I am always so happy when the phase passes. Good luck until then!

I have an early riser and a late sleeper. Although sometimes the late sleeper is an early riser. And what really pisses me off? THE DOGS. I don't sleep nearly enough, but hopefully SOON that will change.

Hang in there!
