Day One - Success

To say the kids were tired from our crazy trip is an understatement. Ashley slept until 8:30am this morning, Audrey was up at 7:30am only because of the dog. (I found Audrey in the hallway asleep at 7:00am and put her in bed with me and when Tootles discovered she was there, she started to lick her).

And so far the plan to potty train has been successful - no accidents, and she looks damn cute in a big kid underwear.

She caught onto the sippy cup thing and threw a fit. I decided I would stick to potty training for now, get rid of her sippy cups later. Maybe Ray can fight that battle...

I think it is wise to stick with one thing at a time to work on. Like you said- stick with potty training now. You can always pull back on the sippy cups after she has the potty training thing down.

Such a good idea to only stick to one thing at a time...but I'm like you I always try to do everything at once.

It works perfectly in my head!

Glad to hear it's going well.

Yay - good for her!

Great job with the potty training.

I would stick with one new thing at a time...and she will get the hang of both in no time!

Good Luck!

I agree to stick with one thing for now. Sounds like the potty training is going well :)

Oh yes, its never too early as a parent to learn the "pick your battles" rule. So kudos to giving into her on the sippy cups. Soon though she will be ready to hand them over, when she realizes with the undies she is now a "big girl". Oh yeah, then she'll want to borrow the car, stay out past curfew .... heeheehee
That "pick your battles" will serve you well in the teenage future - trust me on that.
Congrats on the potty training - that's a huge hurdle!

I'm so glad that it's going well! You're good with the sippy cups...I still give my 5 year-old sippy cups so I don't worry about her spilling on the carpet (although they are both very capable of drinking out of a regular cup).

Seems to me that the sippy cup thing could wait until October, wink wink.

Glad the potty training is going so well!

Congrats on the potty training!

Kinda wish my daughter begged for the sippy cups. She always wants the big girl ones but has no clue how to drink out of them - what a mess!

Whaddya mean, "get rid of the sippy cup?"
I still have mine.

I agree and think you are better off doing one at a time, esp. if she is on to you. LOL
