In the past few weeks, I have taken off more than a few of the blogs I read due to the fact I was called stupid, dumb, or any other version for the fact that I supported a candidate other than their own.
I realize I am not in the majority in the great world wide web, but I am still a person and just because I have a different opinion than you, doesn't make me stupid.
Ashley gets to vote today at her school, and we asked her who she was going to vote for. She knows the sign in our yard, but we realize that she can be easily persuaded by her peers. Ray gave a simple explanation - I won't give details as to not make anyone mad, but it was simple enough for her to understand the basic difference between the two candidates. And just to let you know, Ray voted for neither McCain nor Obama - so he was somewhat unbiased.
I voted last week - and from what I hear about lines, I am glad I did. But don't let lines deter you...go vote if you have not had a chance to yet. Let your opinion be heard.

I'm sorry you were made to feel that way. Regardless of who you support, even if it is different than my candidate, I support your choice. That's part of the great thing about this country.
That's what I hate about blogs, people just write stuff and don't care at all about the people they're writing about. We're all people here and we all have feelings. That makes me really sad. I was in a blog last month where some guy was slamming me for something that I'd done, which he didn't agree with. It really tore me up.
that is just so wrong... we live in a free country and you have the right to vote the way you choose. The fact that you voted is what should be acknowledged even if people disagree with your political point of view!
Did you know, as of last night, over 40% of registered voters in our state had already voted? That's a record!!
Sorry the nasties were out! I don't like to talk politics. I'll listen to what others have to say and say what I have to say, but I DON'T like to try to be persuaded. I'm all grown up and have opinions of my own - informed opinions at that - and when someone starts telling me I'm wrong and stupid and dumb - well, then I stop listening and it's just over and they've lost all credibility.
And yes - LOVE the absentee ballots. Oh MY I couldn't believe the lines this a.m.!
That just really sucks and makes me kind of sad. We have a multiparty system in the US BECAUSE people have different viewpoints. It's a shame that some can't see/understand not everyone feels their same way. This election is especially emotional for many but people also need to respect other's opinions. I'm sorry you were called names and made to feel that way. I know you rock! : )
That makes me mad and sad - I think the name calling has gone too far. Regardless who you support it is your voice, your vote, your opinion. What really counts is that you voted.
I had to mention - my word verification is palin. A subliminal message from blogger?
I'm sorry you were made to feel that way - I don't think you are stupid myself even though I don't support your candidate and you dont' support mine. Who cares. You are not your candidate. You are a good friend, wife and mom.
2 Hours and 10 Minutes is how long I waited to vote this morning BUT I was patient and read a magazine - I voted, that is what counts.
OUr lines are long - I can see my voting place from my house....i am going to venture out shortly!
Man, that just pisses me off that people would be narrow-minded and downright rude to you about YOUR political beliefs. Just who do they think they are anyway? Makes me angry. And sad.
I voted today and was surprised to see that the lines weren't that bad. It took me about 40 minutes total from start to finish.
Then I went to Starbucks to get my 'Voters Coffee'! I would have hit up Ben 'N Jerry's and Krispie Kreme too but *sniff*, we don't have any close to where I live.
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo SORRY someone made you feel that way! What JERKS!!! You have the right to vote for who you like and that is allllllllllllllll there is to it!!!!!!!! =)
I will vote today when I get off work! I didn't even know where to go vote until this afternoon...since Mr. "S" and I just moved! But I found it!!!!
We are going to make history one way or the other!!!! We will be in the history books!!!!
Let's keep praying for a McCain Palin VICTORY!!!
That is just plain WRONG that people made you feel like that. But you really did the right thing. I would have removed them too!! I say vote for whoever you want!!! Just VOTE! Aren't our blogs supposed to be supportive of each other?? Well, I support you my friend!
WOW - that is crazy - everyone has the right to hae an opinion...it frustrates me when people are so closed=minded and not open to differences.
Just believe in yourself and your opinions, and the heck with those people! You got true friends who may or may not share your party affiliation.
I am so sorry that people out there are ignorant enough to make others feel less than themselves because of who they vote for. All that matters now is that we all voted!
I am so sorry that you were treated that way. That is totally uncalled for. The fact that we can have our own opinions and vote for who we want to is something we should be grateful for.
Just because my opinion differs from someone else's doesn't make me or them any better or worse.
I'm here from Abbily Ever After and the ornament swap!
I'm sorry to hear you were called names just because you have a different opinion than someone else. That's called ignorance.
Have a wonderful week!
Kylie got to vote at school too which I thought was so cool! Then we talked about how it will be four years before she gets to do it again. I never thought they would do something like this for such a young age!
Oh, it makes me sad to think that your feelings were hurt. It shouldn't be that way.
