What I am doing today....

Um, yea, so everyone knows I hate the cold. Hate, hate, hate it.

So waking up to snow was not a happy moment. The forecast when we went to bed was possibly 1-3 inches, maybe 2-4? Schools were already closed at 10:15pm last night.

This video was from about 8:00am this morning. Since this video, the snow has almost doubled. There is probably 7-8 inches on the ground. My office closed, and I am thinking not much is open out there.

The other kicker? I just found out that Ashley has to make up her day today on SATURDAY. They don't have any "extra" days built into year round. And of course this Saturday she has a Girl Scout event. I am all for her missing the 1/2 day of school to go to the Girl Scout event. I know, bad parent.

And I am sure she won't go to school tomorrow....

looks like lots of fun. do you think they will change the Girl Scout thing since the kids have to make up the school day?

tonight you and hubby should curl up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate and watch the snow... how romantic!

Awesome! So glad that you got a taste of winter in your town!

That arrangement with school is odd, but understandable. I'd probably go through with my original plans as well - no bad parenting there!!

Stay warm!

I'm not sure if my birthday wish went thru on the prev. post. The system tried to slap my fingers.

The snow thing happened here at christmas time. The weatherman said 8 inches -- we got 16. After 35 inches over two weeks, the weatherman predicted 8 more, instead we got a warm wind and RAIN.

snow is definitely for little girls with mittons.

Scouting is educational too.

they canceled school for us today because they were calling for several inches but we didn't have any snow at all. fortunately in VA they build a couple of days in so we're all set.

I love that the kids were outside and Little Einsteins was still on inside. Just like my house :)

7 or 8 inches of snow in NY is nothing. My hometown? Would cancel school for a foot or more. A friend lives in Maryland and he said it's funny (to him) to see how the city reacts to snow.

Winter can be fun. Too bad for me that fun feeling is long gone by February and we still have snow through March.

:)

I am sooooo jealous! All we got was a dusting. I just want one good day of snow! And, the last time we got anywhere near 7 inches of snow was probably back in the early 80's.
