Backup

For the past few months, my head has been wrapped up in running, birthdays, girls weekends, cheerleading, more running. Oh, and "acting like a 16 year old" (Ray's words, not mine) and counting down the days until New Moon (which was much nicer to watch last night without the screaming, thank you very much!).

There are two really big events, okay three if you count Thanksgiving, but since I am not cooking, I am not really counting it, that round out the end of the year. Yes, Christmas which for the first time in about 10 years I haven't purchased not.one.single.gift yet. Am I starting to stress about this fact? Just slightly. More so on the fact that Ray and I did away with credit cards last year, and in years past I have literally gone online order crazy, and I can't really do that this year. I need to think about the purchases I make, and not buy some mundane thing just because I got that one marketing email that said this would be my kids' favorite gift. Yes, me = sucker. (Those emails and the free shipping! emails always get me....) And I am stressing because I have no idea what to get the kids. They don't know what they want, I don't know what to get them, it is one big guess at this point. I have a few ideas, but really? No clue.

The other big event? We leave for Disney World on December 5th. Yup, our annual Disney trip, thanks to our Disney timeshare we so smartly purchased pre-kids. And no, for those that don't know, we don't have to take Ashley out of school for this - she is in year round and tomorrow is her last day of school this year. She won't go back until January 4th, 2010.

In all other years, I have already made multiple lists and changed my spreadsheet a hundred times by now. This year? I guess I have had just too much going on before this to even remotely think about it. I do have my spreadsheet done with park hours and such, but I haven't even attempted to start stalking the weather websites or checking the Disney sites I often go to.

We are all excited to go - a week in the happiest place on Earth right before Christmas? Should be just what we all need.

We went to Disney World a few years ago the week before Christmas. I grew up going to Disneyland every year. Disney Christmas is the best! I loved it. I even cried a little when I saw Mickey. Have fun!

Have fun at Disney! I'm jealous...this is when we went two years ago...can't believe it's been that long!

Don't stress...everything will work out. I know it's easier said than done...I find myself stressing about presents too, but then I try to make myself step back and realize that is not what Christmas is about!

I'm only 4 hours from Orlando...should I go since I have no kids I didn't really know if we would enjoy it.

One of these days we'll make it to Disney...my kids have no idea.

Everything will fall into place as far as planning goes, don't stress yourself out over it!
