Our six month anniversary of living in North Carolina passed last month without a thought. In that six months, it feels like we have been here forever. It was so easy to settle here and it has definitely helped that everyone we've met, either in our neighborhood or at work, is friendly.
A little over six months ago we uprooted our young family (Audrey was only 3 months old when we moved) to move 3-4 hours away from the Grandparents. But the Grandparents have been great. They have all visited at least twice as well as the Uncles coming to visit. And we don't miss Northern Virginia at all. We don't miss the traffic, the obscene housing market (which has since crashed) nor the competitiveness of the area. It felt like everyone was trying to outdo everyone else, and it just was a crappy enviroment to be stuck in day after day.
The only we miss is our old backyard (actually just Ray misses it)...
