Blog is a linking verb

So a couple of weeks ago, there was an article in our local Raleigh newspaper, the News and Observer. It was titled "Blog is a Linking Verb" and was about how area parents find connections through online posts. It highlighted three local bloggers. One of them, The Trixie Update, hasn't been updated in months. Another one, the chick hadn't updated it since prior to Christmas. Then it gave a few examples of blogs to check out, Dooce and Notes from the Trenches. There is nothing wrong with that, but I was looking for more local bloggers. The only one I know is this one.

So I emailed the staff writer that wrote it. She emailed me back in minutes saying how hard it was to find local bloggers and then when she did find some, they didn't want their blog to be made public. Makes sense, I understand. She wished she could have met me prior to the article (I could have been famous!) and would I help them set up something at their site for bloggers of young children? Hell yes!

Of course, I haven't heard anything since. So much for me being famous.

Oh your a famous first donator, of course I did accuse you of trying to pass dolls off as children so you might be famous for that too. : ) You'll get your 15 mins and then some..... just keep in touch with your contact at the newspaper. You never know....

I have so much to say!!

First - you are totally famous in my blogging world!! :-)

Second - I got this absolutely wonderful Valentines Day card from someone who I already consider a good friend but have yet never met... wonder who that could have been???

May I say it really brought tears to my eyes that someone so kind would be thinking of me at such a down time of the year for me - it really made me feel so wonderful!!!

Third - We REALLY REALLY REALLY need to meet up soon, so I can give you a great big hug :)

You're famous to me! :)

I know what you mean though. I have found a few blogs of people in my local area but not really that many. It's kind of frustrating.

It's so much fun to have a "blogging network" where you know this person through this person and so on, and everyone blogs. I have yet to find very many people locally, though. I know where you're coming from.

How odd that they wrote the article and linked to people who hadn't been updating.

It's funny that she couldn't come up with locals, it isn't too hard if you know how to do a good Google search. Oh well, maybe you'll get your 15 minutes yet.

You know that I found two local bloggers and that one seems to have no interest in meeting and I'm going to meet the other very soon. Most of the lovely ladies I've "met" live far, far away. *sob*
