Fun Monday Post Again!

Marnie is hosting this week's Fun Monday post. Please visit her for all the participants.

This week's challenge? Why we love where we live.

For those of you new here, we moved to Raleigh, North Carolina less than a year ago. Prior to living here, we lived in Northern Virginia, a.k.a. the Rat Race. Seriously, it was. I was leaving my house at 6:00 am to commute 25 miles and it still took me an hour and a half. Here, my commute is about the same, except I leave later and it only takes me 25 minutes.

Quality of life? Check. Less traffic? Check. Great parks, outdoor stuff to do, family friendly? Check. Cheaper houses? Check, check.

We could not have made a better decision than to move here. I will leave you with this picture, it's the state fair at night. Hope everyone has a great Monday! Also, I have added a picture of Jippy's son in the Click on Me Section, it takes you to the charity badge. Go check it out.

Yep. NC is a wonderful place to live. I was born in Wilmington, NC, but given their track record of hurricane hits during the past decade, I'd choose Raleigh!

My mom and I LOVE the mall there. It takes us an hour and 45 minutes to get to The Streets at Southpoint.

Nice picture, too, Amy. Thanks for sharing.

What are you doing with all the extra time that you aren't in the car?
Love the night photo. Makes me want to get on that ferris wheel with some cotton candy.

Shhhhhhhh!!

If you keep bragging more people will move here!! lol

Seriously, did you see the news report that stated with the way our population is growing here that in 10 years we are predicted to have as many people as Dallas?? As in Dallas Texas!

I'm outta here if that happens, lol.

I haven't spent much time on the East Coast, but when we visited Washington D.C.,I'd love to go back and see more. The East Coast is very beautiful.
Those are all the reasons I love AZ, compared to CA. Except the heat!

Dear Amy W. It used to take me an hour to drive 9 kilometres. A result of a river and not enough bridges. Mr Moi and I were talking about this just last night. Commuting is horrible, but most horrible when it takes a long time to get not far.

I also used to live in NC and I really do miss the extremely short commute I had. I lived four miles from work!

Here, I drive 40 minutes each way.

But it's a much better job, so I'm not complaining. :)

I hear you on the commute! Prior to moving to Vancouver, I was in the car 3+ hours a day to get to and from work. It's cheaper to live out in the 'burbs... but I found out, rather quicly, that my time was much more valuable.

Thanks for participating in my oh-so-fun Monday! Terribly sorry it took me so long to stop by. I blame school, teachers and midterms...
