- I have totally crawled into Audrey's crib to try to get her to sleep. Maybe once, or twice.
- I still help Ashley in the bathroom even though she is totally capable of wiping herself.
- If Ashley is good at school, she gets to watch a video in the van on the way home (even though it's only 10 minutes).
- We ran out of apple juice last week, Capri Suns are juice, right?
- Audrey started drinking whole milk prior to her first birthday.
- Audrey still goes to sleep to the bottle on most nights. Horrible, I know.
- And she's not walking. But she would like you to walk her around all.damn.day. Which sometimes we refuse. And she throws a fit.
- Audrey is not, I repeat, not sleeping through the night. See number 6.
- Ray and I have been known to argue over who's turn it is to go into Audrey's room in the middle of the night.
- We let Ashley wear a pretty necklace to school even though she's not supposed to. She just wants to be like me.

Gasp! And they haven't taken your children away yet?!?!?
Lol, I don't think any of those "confessions" will hurt either of your girls in any way. You're doing a great job! Sometimes you just want to let them have their way.
Will it make you feel better if I jump into your nightmare as well.
They can take us both away...
1) I have totally crawled into Audrey's crib to try to get her to sleep. Maybe once, or twice.
Although I haven't crawled into her bed, I've pulled her into mine. See my blog from yesterday
2) I still help Ashley in the bathroom even though she is totally capable of wiping herself.
Not yet..but I bet I do at some point.
3) If Ashley is good at school, she gets to watch a video in the van on the way home (even though it's only 10 minutes).
AND? If a little reward gets her to behave....I really don't see the problem with it. Seriously and honestly. What's wrong with this?
4) We ran out of apple juice last week, Capri Suns are juice, right?
This will be me some day.
5) Audrey started drinking whole milk prior to her first birthday.
I didn't do that because of her preemie status but sometimes when I run out of whole milk she gets 2% is that bad?
6) Audrey still goes to sleep to the bottle on most nights.
Horrible, I know.
Casey VERY rarely but she's 21 months. We're trying very hard to break her at all but most naps don't happen without a bottle.
7) And she's not walking. But she would like you to walk her around all.damn.day. Which sometimes we refuse. And she throws a fit.
Each kid is different.
8) Audrey is not, I repeat, not sleeping through the night. See number 6.
Neither is Casey at 21 months. Can't you tell by my lack of thought most days?
9)Ray and I have been known to argue over who's turn it is to go into Audrey's room in the middle of the night.
Caseys' crib is IN our room. This is why we have to move ASAP. But most nights when she won't sleep it's because she wants to cuddle so one of us cuddles and the other goes to sleep on the couch.
10) We let Ashley wear a pretty necklace to school even though she's not supposed to. She just wants to be like me.
Why wouldn't she want to be JUST LIKE YOU?
I'm going to steal this, is that OK? I love it!
And trust me, those are hardly confessions! You have great kids! Oh, and I love the necklace thing...that would totally be me!
Proof that guilt gets to the best of us. You are doing a great job being a mom! I think the best moms know exactly what they would of, could of, should of............ with more time, more energy, more money.
Set all that down for a while and Just take the time to enjoy it.
Great post- not bad confessions @ all!
I'm feeling the whole mom guilt today..BURNT OUT MORE actually..
:)
I am so with you on most of these! While I managed to get the bottle away from Jack (8 days baba free and counting!!) he still goes BA-NA-NAS in bed at night and once in the middle of the night if there is no milk in his sippy. I try to convince him to drink water during the night, but he will have no part of it.
KJ doesn't sleep through the night either, although we are finally making it into "most nights" territory. (He'll never sleep again because I said that.)
And the "who should get up" discussions in the middle of the night? Mmmmhhhhhhmmmmm.
Wait until they're in high school and want to sleep. Then I'll fix them.
OMG - Call the mommy police now!
LOL - seriously, all of us do that at some point, except the bottle for me. On his first birthday I promptly whipped that away and quick! It drove me nuts for some reason, so I let him fuss for a couple of days but nothing major. Sippy cups all around! ;)
Oh. My. God!! You let her have WHOLE milk BEFORE she turned ONE!! The HORROR!! I let Morgan watch Little Einsteins during lunch today so I could lock myself in the laundry room and cry. So, let's go have a drink and then go Target-ing. That's what awesome moms do, right?
Does it help when I say Madison our 6 year old still rarely sleeps through the night? Ooh yeah that is getting really old. Probably why she usually sleeps in the same bed as her sister because she is less likely to crawl in bed with us. I blame it on my hubby though.
Fortunatly I don't have to help them in the bathroom anymore but I do still frequently dress Maddy, she insists on it, cause she's the baby you know. Also if we had the ability to watch movies in our car I would so do it, even for 10 minutes because peace in the car is really important for my sanity. And about the necklace, you have seen the cupid photo on my blog right? If you notice she is wearing a necklace, bracelet, earings and you can't see it on the other hand but a ring also and she is only 15 months in the picture so I can't say anything about kids and jewelry, cause she wore those more then in the picture.
For SHAME!
LOL!
E is going to be four in 24 days. She still does not sleep through the night. When she was in a crib, if my fat ass wouldn't have collapsed that sucker, I would have totally climbed in there, just to get some peace!
Our 18 year old still doesn't sleep through the night.
We still don't know what to do with her. At least she stays in her own room.
How funny. Just make sure Child and Youth Services don't get a hold of this post :)
Oh my god is that funny!
My oldest twins are 4 and they still ask for help in the bathroom. When I ask what they do at school after they go, they tell me they do it their self. I know, I am a total sucker!
Carson and Cooper are 15 months - I will confess they have been sleeping through the night since they come home from the NICU(after 40 days) but we are not yet walking either. Since I have 4 kids ages 4 and under - I'm not pushing them to walk - Is that bad??? And I know all about the whole and 2% milk thing. I will admit - they have even had skim!
Oh girl - it's like you are living my life! I totally thought about doing #1 last night when Emily kept waking up. For fear of breaking the crib, I chose to lay on the floor next to it holding her hand. Heck, Capri Sun is better than the SODA I let Emily have on the airplane home Friday - just to keep her quiet. I'm pretty sure 16 month olds should not have sips of soda! Oh, and Bill & I still argue about who's turn it is to get up - I lost last night.
LOL!I have done these things too, except crawling in the crib,I would do it if it calmed my baby down to help her sleep, but, I'd be afraid of breaking it.
Lindsey's finally walking. I'd give her real milk, but she won't drink real milk. She doesn't like it. I say Capri Suns are better than soda too. That's cool Ashley wants to be just like you!
