Superstitious

Monday I went to work with my underwear on inside out. Not really a big deal, but proof I need more sleep. Audrey is teething and getting up once or ten times a night.

Then Ray and I made the mistake of trying to go to the grocery store Monday evening with the kids. We thought the free cookies Harris Teeter gives out was enough. Nope. Rookie mistake. Ray jokingly showed Ashley a jar of pig's feet (only in North Carolina!!) and told him we were going to buy them to eat. Well, she really wanted those pig's feet. And about feel apart when we told her no. Ray ended up taking her home while I finished the shopping.

Then Monday bedtime was a nightmare - Ashley alternating yelling my name or screaming crying (but she did stay in her room, small steps). All while I was trying to get Audrey to bed who only wanted to head butt me and laugh. And then cry hysterically when I put her in her crib. Finally about 9:30pm they were both asleep.

I admit it, I'm superstitious. I hold my breath when passing a cemetery. I touch a screw when driving over train tracks. I attribute Monday's bad luck to the penny I found tails up that day. Pennies are only lucky heads up.

Toss me a heads up penny today, would ya?

Wow, those little "episodes" are enough to send anyone over a cliff! My daughter has been up the last couple of nights trying to get into our bed. I'm so tired and so sick of fighting with her! When will it end???

I feel for you! My 9 month old was up all night last night! Like she is pretty much every night! *sigh* I think she just want to sleep in our bed with us! I would love it if I wasn't always getting my eyes gouged out, teeth picked, and nose squeezed:) LOL!!!

I'll send you whatever luck I have leftover. i need some of it. Anya was up most of the night too. I fell back asleep this morning while my husband got in the shower. We're supposed to leave at 6:30 and I woke at 6:13. Yikes.

Is it time for more teeth already? I'm beginning to think it's a good thing Anya has't gotten any yet...

I feel for you. Yay for Ashley staying in her room! Teething is sooooo not fun, for anybody. I'm not sure how I got so lucky that my kids go to bed so easily, but I'm knocking on wood that it stays that way! Hope Audrey sleeps better tonight.

I totally just threw some pennies (all heads up) your way!

It must have been the underwear - started your day off wrong. Throw some salt over your shoulder and never wear your underwear inside out again! : )

Touch a screw driving over train tracks.

I've never heard that one before.

Passing a Cemetary we hold our breath and raise our feet from the floor until we are pass it. I never heard of the touching a screw to cross the tracks before, interesting.

Thats funny about the pigs feet. Once when Izzak was little we were out and he kept asking what we were having for lunch. Jokingly I said "how about a knuckle sandwich" (really just joking I would never do that) bad mistake though he through a fit for the next half hour because he wanted a Knuckle Sandwich...kids.
Oh and I have worn my underwear inside out before especially when my brain is not on right.

When your kids get older HT's free cookies totally work. My kids get completely psyched about going to the grocery store just for the cookies now. They split one cookie on the way in, and only get the other if they behave while in the store. Works every time. My older kids are almost 5 and 2.5, so you had the right idea, and it will work soon!

I hold my breath when going by a cemetary -- was told as it kid (by older kids) that it was rude to breathe in front of those who can't! hee hee

I put my feet up when going over railrod tracks. No idea why.

I am very supersticious (spelling?!) about baseball.

Wow..that wore me out.

So far it's 2:30pm by me I had 5 things on my "to do" list today...and so far have been stonewalled trying to accomplish FOUR of the 5.

Not a good day for me either.

I feel your pain. Lindsay woke up at 4:30 this morning screaming, but she was also up at 11,12,2, she's teething really bad too.

As for being superstitious, I never walk on a crack!

Hope your day is getting better!

My last two days have been sort of off, like something just isn't quite right. Maybe it's just the phase of the moon?
