Fun Monday #12 - Embarrassing Clothing

The challenge this week was to find something in your closet you are keeping for some ungodly reason (the sweatshirt with all the holes, the jeans your kids used as a drawing table with markers, the shirt with the stain you only hope no one notices) take a picture of it and tell us why you are keeping it and how it got that way.

As far as my embarrassing clothing, well, considering I recently did this to my closet:

I don't have much to go on. I did realize I kept my insane amount of white tee shirts from various events and places. First up, mine and Ray's favorite restaurant in Phoenix, which we have been to twice in our lives. Sad that we have tee shirts from there...

Notice how faded it is?

Next up, my beloved Chipotle tee shirt. I know, but I did not buy this one for myself. It was a gift.

And last, I have tee shirts from every year I volunteered at the fair back in Virginia. These shirts are so stretched out, Ray and I both can fit in them.

As for why I have kept these? Ray and I used to wear them to work out in. We still use them occasionally to work out, but since I sometimes work out in clothes that are really pajamas (cute tank tops, don't make fun of me) we don't wear these much anymore. I guess I could really just add them to the pile....

UPDATE - We have a host for next week - Bethany at Ice Cream Mama. Check back with her later for instructions!

I have lots of those kind of t-shirts that I haven't gotten rid of. Don't know why though? I am a bit of a pack rat.

I think everyone has shirts like that. Mine end up with paint and bleach stains on them.

I wear those t-shirts for nightshirts, cleaning, and working in the yard. Eventually, the cotton shirts make great rags. Some shirts bring back sweet memories of some event so I keep them for some time. My Fun Monday is up too.

I think if I turned out my wardrobes I could easily match your sacks. I use all my old t-shirts for working around the house, when you read my post you will see why I have so many with bleach stains.

My post is published.

Apart from the fact that you have missed me off the list (for which I forgive you :-) ) I am glad to see that I am not the only one with weird T-shirts!

I can't believe these T-shirts are your most embarrassing item - (I think I should withdraw my blog before you find out what embarrassing really is!!) I'm betting that the really scary stuff is inside those bags!

We ate at Oregano's a couple months ago, and the food was incredible. I'd keep the T-shirt! :)

Lots of tees and sweats coming out of the closet today.

I wish I wasn't so behind in my blog reading, then I'd have known about this sooner and would have done an expose on my husband's closet. Mine's clean and organized but what is it about men hanging on to every t-shirt they ever owned? He has shirts in his closet given to him by his high school girlfriend, not keeping them for sentimental reasons but because "they're so comfortable." And ventilated. You should see the holes.

I don't get it...embarrassed about tee shirts? Why, they're a staple in my wardrobe :). I guess it's too much of a good thing, huh? When they were younger, our kids liked to sleep in ours before we got rid of them for good.

Finally, I have my Fun Monday post up :/. I explained the delay on my blog (and thanks for including me in this round).

Oh, yeah, I'm at typepad (http://pensieve.typepad.com/pensieve/), but I'm signing in with my old Blogger ID.

I have some shirts like these too! And I just bagged up about 90% of my closet as well, so A LOT of my embarrassing stuff went bye bye!

However, I do have something in mind to post....soon. Promise!
