Soccer Monster (I love that episode of the Backyardigans...)

Soccer Monster from Amy W on Vimeo.
This is Ashley's first official throw-in. Just ignore my scary, obnoxious voice.

The game was great. Ashley participated, although I don't think she touched the ball except for the throw-in and their version of a corner kick. But she said she had fun and she told the coach she had fun. At this point, that's all that matters. And there was no hand holding in the middle of the field, thank goodness.

This week has been the longest week known to man. Seriously. I am fighting a serious head cold (AGAIN) and our best friends on our street are on vacation. Damn them. We have no one to entertain us. And speaking of our neighbors, last night after soccer, we gave Ashley breakfast for dinner, some frozen pancakes (parents of the year award, I know). She knows that her best friend Hayden has breakfast for dinner sometimes, and she told me she wanted to call Hayden's Mom Edie and tell her she was having breakfast for dinner. I told her they weren't home, they were in Disney World. Her response?

"Mom, they have cell phones, call them on that."

Well, I guess she's right. Next she's going to be asking for her own cell phone.

I couldn't see the video...says it's "private".

If giving your kid breakfast for dinner is a sign you're Mother of the Year....well, you've got competition :) Morgan has breakfast for dinner a tleast twice a month....sometimes three.

LOVE Ashley's response. She's right. I bet she had a "Pfft..please, Mom" look on her face :)

What a great video!!! I'm glad she had such a great time!

Dinner for breakfast...we do that sometimes and it always screws my daughter up...she'll keep asking me "is it breakfast time?" I think I don't do it as much because growing up we had a lot of dinners that consisted of bowls of cereal because my didn't feel like cooking that night :)

So cute! And breakfast for dinner does deserve the mother of the year award in my book!!! If it makes you feel better I completely forgot about my daughter's first fundraiser of the year. So I lost the award hands down. However, they about 10 fundraisers every year, so I think I can catch up.

And she DOES have her own cell phone. But only because she walks to and from school, which is a block and half away, but you just never know. We know everyone on her route and all the kids walk together, but STILL...

She looked like she was having fun! I loved watching my little guys play, thanks for the memories.

How cute - looks like she had fun running around if nothing else. I love how they run in a herd!

At least you gave you kid dinner - I think Abby ate a cheese stick last night and that was all she wanted/would eat.

An Abby has asked for an ipod for her birthday. I'm sure the cell isn't far behind.

That's my favorite episode, too. If the kids aren't home, and "soccer monster" comes on, I'll watch it. Oh yes, I have no shame.

LOVE the video...thanks for sharing! Kids love breakfast at other times...breakfast for lunch is one of the biggest sellers at my school. I know Ashlyn thinks it is funny and loves it when we have breakfast at other times....and sometimes it isn't even pancakes...sometimes it is still cereal! Can't wait to hear more about soccer and your upcoming vacation!

You have to be loud during the soccer game. It's the law.

They are so cut in their soccer gear. Ben starts on Saturday so I'll be a soccer mum too.

We have breakfast for dinner once in a while too. It's yummy! But Ashely's comment is just too cute. I'm sure she wonderd why she had to suggest the cell phone to you though- probably thought you should have thought of that yourself.
