How the other half lives...

First off, thanks for all the suggestions yesterday...hopefully Ray has read them all and will consider each one. I loved the Savannah suggestion. And I know a few of you said Vegas, but Ray and I have been lucky to have gone to Vegas multiple times since we have been married to include a Valentine's Day weekend four years ago. I have also been wanting to go to the Biltmore since moving to North Carolina, so we shall see. You will find out in June where we go!

Anyways, Ray and his real estate team have a multi-million dollar listing right now in North Raleigh. Yesterday was the broker open house were they tried to get agents in to check out the house and hopefully find someone to buy it. It was catered, and since it was free food and a chance to see a huge house, I tagged along.

And holy hell, was this house big. Seriously. A million dollars will get you a pretty damn big house in Raleigh anyways, but a couple million?

In the master bath was a Japanese soaking tub. This tub was so tall it came up to my chest. There were gold plated sconces in the master bedroom. The chandelier in the foyer was flown in from Spain and was $35,000. And there was a wine cellar in the basement.

And don't get me started on the closets. Let's just say this woman has more shoes than Oprah. And they were all color coordinated, the winter ones in the main closet and the all the other ones in the "seasonal closet" on the third floor. Yes, I said seasonal closet. On a separate level. I wonder if she pays someone to move the seasonal clothes from one closet to another. Because I am guessing yes.

If there is anyone in the market for a multi-million dollar house in Raleigh, I know just the house for you...

Damn....I'm impressed. No, not by the soaking tub or the chandelier. I'm impressed by the shoes and the seasonal closet on a different level of the house :)

Isn't that so fun to go look at. I love seeing other people's houses - especially the really ritzy ones. I went to a party at a bigwigs house a few years ago - it was amazing - the wine cellar, the ginormous kitchen, all the details - layers and layers of crown molding!!

I went to the parade of homes a couple of years ago and figured out that if I invited 4 other couples to live with me in a million dollar house, it would be a "regular" mortgage. We'd all have our own master bedrooms and everything too....
When I see houses that big, my first thought is "I'm not cleaning that". I understand they all have fancy cleaners and stuff, but still.... and all that dust...yeah, that's what I use to validate that I'll never make enough money to ever have a house that big :P

What I'm interested in is the kitchen. Multiple ovens? Walk-in pantry? Plenty of counter space? Hardwood floors? If, yes, then I'll put in my bid as soon as my Powerball check is cashed. As for cleaning all those rooms I'd have the money from the lottery to pay for someone to come in every day if need be. LOL Seriously, that sounds gorgeous. I love looking st those kind of homes.

WOW! My heart melted when you mentioned all those shoes! Oh goodness,me & my love for shoes! I would of asked if they could throw in the shoes with the house too please!! Of course if only I could afford the million dollar home first-LOL!

Sounds like an awesome house!
I dream about closets like that! :)

Glad you liked the Savannah idea...I was only there once when I was like 7, but I remember loving it.

The house sounds wonderful. I always love doing the Parade of Homes tours that we have here every fall for that reason - the BIG houses.

Then I daydream. A LOT.

Pshaw, don't you have a seasonal closet? I mean, I have four of them, for every damn season of the year.

Haha.

Sounds like fun!

I have a friend when I lived in Portland who was a realtor. Every once in awhile she was good a really big house and would let me come see when they had open houses. Sure made me jealous!
