Ashley woke up around 6:15 this morning and came into my room. She told me her tooth hurt, and I asked her which one. She pointed to the bottom front tooth, and I touched it.
It was loose.
Holy crap, she has her first loose tooth.
Ray made fun of me, and told me not to cry, but this is just one more thing that seems to be coming too quickly these days.
But of course this loose tooth is totally going to consume her. She would only eat on one side of her mouth at breakfast, and she asked me to brush her teeth, and to "be very, very careful please".
I asked her what she thought the tooth fairy would bring her when she loses it, and she said a coin. I guess we are going to get off cheap!

Don't forget Sonia's toothfairy service:

I had to take Tigger to the dentist a few weeks ago because his teeth hurt - he wasn't chewing either - the dentist said it is because his teeth are coming in too and he'll be in pain for a while -
Gotta love that CPA Mom, she's my bestest pimp.
Mine were all "late" tooth losers, each so far hitting six years old before they lost the first one, so the spent Kindergarten watching their classmates lose teeth one by one and them sitting there with nuttin. So they were always happy to finally get that first one lost!
Awwww! Her first loose tooth! How sweet, I can just see all of her school photos now without a front tooth! :)
Keven Jr. asks me all the time when his teeth are going to fall out. I guess I can tell him SOON!
Holy crap. Does that start too this year?
how cool... wonder if her teacher will do something at school? we graphed the lost teeth in my class. I can look up some of my loose tooth books if you want to know some good stories to go with the experience
how cute is that...yes, another milestone that comes way too soon!
it amazes me what kids get from the tooth fairy now!
your little girl is growing up!
LUCKY DUCK - you are getting off easy.
It's so fun when they start losing teeth - even if they won't come out on their own and the adult teeth grow in behind the baby teeth and they have to go to the dentist and get them pulled and then the adult teeth are way too big and come in all crooked and you start an extra fund so you can maybe buy them braces in a few years ;-)
And dude, a coin is cheap! $1 is the going rate at our house :-) Oh, and if there's a tooth fairy service, I suggest you use it ;-) The tooth fairy has flewn right by our house more than once . . . I've actually convinced Dude on more than one occasion that the tooth fairy didn't come because he'd hidden his tooth too well under his pillow!
Yes, I'm in the running for MOTY :-)
A coin? Run with it!!!
How neat! My daughter is dying to lose a tooth...but she got her teeth late, so the dentist said she'll lose them late :(
I bet my Mom wishes we'd said then when we lost our teeth :) The tooth fairy use to leave us $5 per tooth and a new toothbrush. It's safe to say that we got a new toothbrush quite often in a short time span :)
The tooth fairy used to leave my kiddos little gifts instead of coins. They never knew it was because we were broke and I was a prime sale shopper!
My friend's daughter jost got $10 for her first tooth. I think my two oldest got a toonie. Another friend's son got $50...crazy!
I like the idea of the toothbrush, especially for the first ever lost tooth.
Awwwwwww!
