Product Reviews

First off, I won't bore you with my sick children and their saga. I won't. I promise not to tell you Ashley is home again today. Going to keep all the boring, whining, my kid is sick and was up at 3:00am, stories to myself. Just for today. They may come back tomorrow.

And hi! to all the delurkers! Stubert, had no idea you were reading....Ray is sorry he didn't call you back when you called like a month ago...after reading this blog, I'm sure you understand. And for those of you who care, Stu was my big brother in the fraternity in college that Ray and I were in. I will fill everyone in on that at a later date. And I know there are more of you lurkers out there (Matt, Wendy, Jen, Mike?? Bro, at least you could try to comment from Jamaica).

So, product reviews. We are doing product reviews of toys the kiddos received for Christmas on the other blog I write for, so I thought I would add a few for here.

Polly Pockets - Seriously, could the shoes for these dolls be any smaller? And why must Ashley insist on changing the shoes every time she touches it? All the shoes just may disappear....

Barbie Fairytopia Mermaidia Playset - My MIL got this for Ashley, and as for anything that is a playset, Ashley plays with it all the time. The funny thing about this toy? It's sits on her new Little Mermaid table in her room and already Audrey has pulled it off the table and last night Ashley knocked it over. And Ray cusses his Mom every time he has to put the damn thing back together, because it comes completely apart.

Playskool Busy Ball Popper - Okay, I am semi-psycho about toys. We all spend probably way too much money on toys, so I like to keep things together. Toys deemed upstairs toys stay upstairs, and the same goes for the downstairs toys. Things need to stay with their respective parts. Yes, I know I need therapy. Anyways, Ray's brother got this for Audrey and both her and Ashley love it. My problem with it? The balls go everywhere and right now I am stressing that one of the five balls is missing somewhere in the family room. I must.find.that.ball.

It is always nice to read about someone that is just like me about toys and their respective pieces (read: anal).

Oh, oh, oh!!! We got our son that ball thing for his birthday last summer and you know why I hate it??? Because my son is a boy who loves balls, and has about 10 million of them. Guess what? Not all of his balls fit in that thing, or wose yet, they fit in, but are not the right size for the thingy to pop them out. So when we look at it we see ball, ball, football, larger ball, football...all stuck in there! When we set up the new playroom we sent the thing to the basement. I know it's a boy thing...put the balls that came with it in there, how hard is that? :)

Psst...I throw away the Barbie shoes as soon as I open the box! I figure when E has better fine motor skills Barbie can have shoes!

Oh, how I hate toys with many pieces. I loathe them. I despise them. I have a friend who always buys my boys toys with many pieces because she knows how much I can't stand them. You know the mini ball pit? That's the worst toy EVER!

Get rid of the Ball Popper!! :) I bought it for Morgan and had to "hide" it a week later 'cause I was tired of chasing the balls all over the house. My nephew loved the toy when he was here for a visit and it's now driving my sister insane....hahahehehoho!! And, I'm with you and Rachel on toys and their "homes" :)

Dum Dum Dum...the ball popper! We have that too! Bought it for Keven Jr. and he loved it. Passed it on to Isaac and he loves it. My dogs ate one of the balls a while ago so that ended my worries of trying to find it, because yes I'm (anal) too and must keep toys and their parts together. And what's really sad? I actually enjoy that toy almost as much as my kids do. But I think more from a perspective of watching their reaction when the balls pop out! But anyway, I agree with Happy Working Mom - Isaac tries to stuff anything and everything in it and one of these days the motor is just going to wear out....

As far as any other toys that have multiple / small parts, I remove them immediately and put them away. It saves my sanity. It really does.

I went crazy looking for toys that would make Zach happy even for the shortest time. I finally calmed down about it but nothing beats finding a keeper toy....one he plays with consistently! That ball boper looks like fun!
