Bad Word

There are certain words that are "bad" in our house, beyond the obvious.

I don't like to hear "stupid" or "hate". Audrey is picking up on these things as I have pointed out to her she shouldn't say those words.

Then she asked me if "America" was a bad word. Huh? At first, I didn't get it.

And then I realized what she was talking about.

I often say "God Bless America" in place of dammit.

And now she thinks "America" is a bad word.

I say Dear Jesus a lot. I'm sure Hudson is going to start picking that up any day now...

That's funny :)

I say Jesus, Mary and Josephine a lot. And fricken. Fricken rolls out of my mouth A LOT. Morgan was looking for her Cinderella dress Monday and couldn't find it. Very quietly, I hear her say "Where IS the fricken thing?"

Part of me wanted to laugh. Which I did. Part of me wanted to reprimand her for saying a bad word. But, IS it a bad word? I told her it was a big people word and she shouldn't say it.

Ouch! I wouldn't have thought of it being viewed that way by young ears but it is a bit funny. :) I am the same way in that I don't like the word stupid or dumb being used in our home

We don't say "stupid" or "hate" either. Neither is necessary. However, my youngest just called my other child a "tool."
