There is something about having kids, especially ones that are almost school age or like mine, starting Pre-K today, that makes the Tuesday after Labor Day feel like a new year. I actually took a month off of my classes, and today I start a new class and finally I feel rejuvenated and ready to go. I was getting a little burnt out, and I think the month break was a good thing.
From now until Christmas, we are pretty busy. Just to name a few? For the class I am in now, I have to tutor a student once a week. Ashley still has soccer once a week and I have band practice once a week. Ray's parents are coming to visit as are friends of ours this month. Next month? NC State Fair, mine and Ray's birthdays as well as our week in Disney World. Throw in some scrapbooking nights, tickets to see a college football game, and we have ourselves a busy little fall.
It really never slows down.
And this morning Ashley was up at 5:30am. The past couple of mornings, she has woken up between 5:00am and 5:30am, and we have been letting her come to our bed to fall back asleep. I tried keeping her in her room this morning to no avail, and finally let her come into our bed where she did not fall back asleep as Ray and I start our mornings around 5:45am. Today is her first day in Pre-K (and wearing a uniform to school, Ray is on strict orders to take her picture this morning), so good luck to her teachers. And the one who normally sleeps until 7:00am, Audrey was up at 6:15am.
It's been a great morning.

Good luck on your first day of school Ashley!
Hope you are able to get a nap in today Amy.
My kids don't go back to school until next week and let me tell you, It's not coming fast enough!!!
Have a great day!
I used to love the first day of school as a child, and it really was the start of the year for me! Love your blog.

Hope Ashley has a great first day in school!!
Maybe close your office door around 11, curl up beneath your desk and take a little siesta?
With all you have going on, you should loads to blog about. In January. When things MAYBE slow down?? :)
Maybe because Tigger has been in school since 8/27, I didn't feel that way this year. But I did start a new exercise routine today. Hope I can stick with it. I was up at 4:30 for that. Quad espresso anyone?
Can't wait to see Ashley in uniform! Did you cry?
Looking forward to seeing photos.
I had to drag Ben out of bed at 7.40am to make the 8.10am bus...he wasn't happy.
Ah I loved the first day of school, it was always so peaceful and I was lost with what to do with my day, alone. For a moment anyway. But now my youngest two are home. The oldest of those two is studing for his GED and the youngest I school, but it's still quieter than when there were four at home.
That first day of school comes around quickly, I bet she looks cute in her uniform. My niece's daughter starts this week and she was feeling a bit sad.
I suspect we will be missing you - and then you will post breathless missives that will make us believe you are superwoman.
whew.... I'm tired already.
Abby was up and dressed (in her new first day outfit) at 6:30am. We didn't have to leave until 8:15!
I'm dying to talk with her at the end of today - to see how everything went.
And I hear you on the new year feeling. Both my girls started new schools - and now that we're in elementary school with abby it definately feels very different.
ooh the first day of school - how exciting!
I am sure she will do well and have a great time!!
Matthew starts tomorrow and boy am I nervous, lol... I can't imagine when he goes into kindegarten!!
Sounds like a rough morning! I'm sorry you had a rough start. Congrats on the first day of school! Hope it went well....can't wait to see pics! You have such a busy month! Makes for good blogging though ;-)

It sounds like your family is off to a great fall. Fall seems to go so quick with our family too. Good luck on the first day of school!
